In the course of contracting I've done many gig's that use Plone more as a
framework rather than a product. That is I've taken Plone and done one specific
job, turning features off as I go. If I'm doing a project that is X, I dont
need a client side calendar and undo and so on. These are all valid features,
they just don't suit my need.

So Simple Plone is a customisation policy and a skin that turns off all
features that might be confusing or uneccesary and secondly makes the downloads
a smaller. I use this as base Plone that I use for my beginning prototype and
starting sites. You can then easily turn features on as you need them, rather
than turning them off.

This is just something that other people may or may not want to use. My
maintenance of it will be mostly based upon how much need I have for this.

Anyway, if you want a simple Plone, this is for you.
